An 18-year-old male was arrested during a police exercise in the South Western Division yesterday.
Official police reports state that on Wednesday 15 January 2020, based on information received, an exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Gomez-Cooper, Supt Ramphall and ASP Ramdeen and a party of officers under the supervision of Sgt (Ag) Andrews.
Police officers went to Union Village, La Brea, where a search warrant was executed at the home of the 18-year-old male of the same area.
The suspect was found with one Valor 380 automatic pistol stuck in his trouser waist.
He was arrested and taken to the La Brea Police Station on enquiries.
The arrested man is expected to be charged for possession of a firearm.
