Police are investigating a robbery against a 17-year-old schoolgirl.

A report stated that on Monday, the girl, a form five student of the Carapichaima Secondary School went to the Pleasantville Community Center on Prince Albert Street, Pleasantville around 9.50 pm. She told police she went to meet someone whom she met on Facebook and wanted to purchase her red iPhone 8 valued at $3,000.

While waiting at the Centre, two men approached her from the bushy track and enquired about the phone. She told investigators that she handed over the phone to the men and while awaiting payment, one of the men pulled out a firearm and pointed it at her. He told her to run and as she ran, the men left through the bushy track.

She reported the robbery to Mon Repos police, and an investigation is underway.
