Officers of the Tobago Divisional Task Force held one man and seized more than $251,000 cash during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Shirvan district on Tuesday.
The exercise was co-ordinated by Senior Supt Anand Ramasar, headed and supervised by Sgt Stewart, with the assistance of officers from the Moriah and Roxborough Criminal Investigation Department, (CID) and the K-9 unit.
A report said during the exercise, the officers conducted a search at the home of a suspect.
During the search, they found a large quantity of cash in various denominations in several places, in multiple pants pockets in a wardrobe and in a brown card box.
The cash totalled $251,437.
A quantity of marijuana was also found in the hand of the suspect, in addition to 13 marijuana trees, which were found on the premises.
The suspect was arrested.
Sgt. Steward and PC Ferguson are continuing investigations.
