A 35-year-old Trinidadian man is facing numerous weapons and drug-related charges after reportedly entering Barbados illegally.

Travell Keelson Fox, a technician, from Pipiol Road, Santa Cruz, is now on remand at Dodds, in connection with the 15 offences.

He will reappear before the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on October 6.

According to a report out of Barbados, Fox is accused of possession of an AK 47 rifle and a .9mm glock pistol without the necessary licences, along with possession of 59 rounds of ammunition.

He is further alleged to have imported the illegal weapons and ammunition into the country without the necessary licences and permits to do so.

Fox also is facing charges of possession, possession with intent to supply, possession with intent to traffic and importation of 94.35 kilogrammes of cannabis and 6.75 kilogrammes of cocaine. The marijuana had an estimated street value of $754,800, and the cocaine, $337,500.

It is also alleged that Fox entered Barbados by sea other than at a port of entry and disembarked without the consent of an immigration officer.

The accused, who is represented by attorneys-at-law Angella Mitchell-Gittens and Queen’s Counsel Michael Lashley, was not called upon to plead to any of the charges, which allegedly arose from a September 2 arrest.

Fox appeared before Magistrate Manila Renee.
