John Outridge, Incoming Chief Executive Officer, Trinidad & Tobago International Financial Centre

(Port of Spain) – The Trinidad & Tobago International Financial Centre (T&T IFC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. John Outridge as the new Chief Executive Officer effective Tuesday 3rd August 2021.

Mr. Outridge has extensive experience within the technology and financial services sectors. He has led initiatives, locally and throughout the region in areas focused on strategic digital transformation, fintech, neo bank strategies, EFT policy development, government modernisation and public financial management systems. Throughout his career, he has worked in senior roles across the public and private sectors in organizations such as EY, iGovTT and Price Waterhouse Coopers. He also holds a Master of Small and Medium Enterprise Management (distinction) from the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business.

Mr. Outridge joins the T&T IFC as the company continues to focus its efforts on executing its realigned mandate.

The realigned mandate sees the T&T IFC as the lead Agency under the Ministry of Finance for Government’s digitalisation initiatives in the Financial Services Sector, in collaboration with other related agencies such as the Ministry of Digital Transformation. A necessary step as the Government aggressively moves towards its goal of digitalising government services by 2023.

In this regard, the T&T IFC’s goals are now aligned to four (4) pillars, which are:

  1. Promoting the development and adoption of ‘cashless’ and future-ready financial services technologies, applications and systems in the public and private sectors
  2. Executing a targeted, integrated national public education campaign that would increase awareness, knowledge, understanding and adoption of future-ready financial services.
  3. Facilitating and advancing financial inclusion, where needed in key segments of society.
  4. Collaborating and advising on the development of the required enabling ecosystem to foster FinTech-Integration, cashless transformation, and future-ready financial services development.

These pillars will rest on the overarching framework that focuses on using technology to improve customer service delivery to citizens and improve the public financial management system.

“I welcome John Outridge as our CEO with great excitement and anticipation as we embark on a new chapter of the T&T IFC,” said Richard P. Young, Chairman. “With John’s leadership and technology skills, we look forward to making a significant contribution in the nation’s digital transformation in the Financial Services sector.”

“The realigned mandate of the T&T IFC sees the company positioned to lead the digital transformation of the financial services sector within the public service, through the adoption of creative fintech strategies and solutions,” said John Outridge, CEO. “I look forward to engaging with all stakeholders as my team and I support the Government’s thrust towards its goal of digitalising payments and services as well as establishing Trinidad and Tobago as a leading Fin-Tech Hub and interconnected Cashless Society.”
