Hours after hearing the shots that ended her son’s life, a woman found her son’s lifeless body mere metres from her home.
Vaundell Joseph, 28, was found dead in a drain which ran along a track which connected his home to Upper St Vincent Street, Tunapuna at around 6:15 am yesterday.
The discovery was made by his mother as she made her way through the pathway, and spotted her son, lying facedown in a bloodied vest.
Joseph was a handyman, Guardian Media was told.
Police were told that shots were heard in the area shortly after midnight, but little was made of it by Joseph’s mother.
Joseph’s body was removed at around 9:30 am yesterday and taken to the Forensic Science Centre were a post mortem was done.
