Officers of the Central Division Gang Unit came under fire while on mobile patrol along Crown Trace, Enterprise, the officers returned fire in the direction of the gunmen, who ran off. The officers gave chase and observed two other suspects, one with a bag in his possession.

According to this release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, officers arrested the two suspects and seized a quantity of ammunition following a police-involved shooting incident in the Enterprise district on Tuesday afternoon. Details follow in this press release from the TTPS:

Two suspects were arrested and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Central Division Gang Unit, following a police-involved shooting incident which occurred in the Enterprise district on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were on mobile patrol along Crown Trace, Enterprise, around 3:30 pm, on Tuesday 15th March, 2022, when they came under fire. The officers alighted from their vehicles and strategically took cover. They then observed two gunmen firing in their direction.

In accordance with the Use of Force Policy, the officers returned fire in the direction of the gunmen, who ran off. The officers gave chase and observed two other suspects, one with a bag in his possession, following the gunmen.

The two suspects were held and were found to be in possession of a magazine and a quantity of ammunition. The suspects, a 20-year-old and a 15-year-old, both of the Enterprise district, were arrested in connection with the find.

The search continues for the two gunmen and investigations are ongoing.
