Two 58-year-old men are expected to appear at the Rio Claro Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday 1 June 2020, to answer charges of possession of cannabis.
The men were arrested and charged yesterday during a road check exercise conducted in the Rio Claro district by police, between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
Official police reports indicate that during the exercise, officers stopped a white Nissan B14 motor vehicle at Cunapo Southern Road, Cushe Village, Rio Claro. A search of the vehicle was conducted, which led to police finding a black garbage bag containing 800 grammes of cannabis.
The driver, Sheldon Moses, and his passenger, Wayne Gillard—both from San Fernando—were arrested and charged with possession of cannabis by PC Mohammed.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Aguilal, supervised by Cpl Tyson and included the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), and Charge Room officers.
