Two more people have succumbed to COVID-19, taking the virus’ death toll locally up to 120.

In its update yesterday, the Ministry of Health said the recent fatalities were an elderly male and female who both had pre-existing medical conditions.

The ministry also confirmed that there were 30 additional infections from samples taken between November 26 and 28, bringing the total number of infections in the country since March 12 to 6,660.

Twelve people were also released from home self-isolation as recovery community cases, which took the number of people to have recovered from the virus locally to 5,745.

The total number of active cases also stood at 795 yesterday. Of these, 42 were in hospitals, 29 in step-down/transitional facilities and 694 in home self-isolation – 175 of whom are in the care of the prison system. There are also 306 people in state quarantine facilities.
