Two people were robbed of TT$30,000 and US$4,000 minutes after they left a bank in Arima.

According to a police report, around 3 pm on Tuesday, the victims had just completed transactions at a bank and were on their way to another destination when they made a quick stop. Police said a silver Toyota Axio pulled alongside them along the Tumpuna Road and two men with guns exited it and announced a hold-up.

The men then robbed the two victims of money bags – one contained TT$30,000 and the other US$4,000. The gunmen then reentered the Toyota and drove off.

The victims returned to their vehicle and made their way to the police station where they lodged a report.

Investigations are continuing.
