Two women are expected to appear before a Couva Magistrate tomorrow, Monday 28 December 2020, after being arrested in connection with the seizure of a quantity of cocaine during a police operation in Couva on Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December 2020.

An official statement from the Police Service reports that police officers from the Couva Criminal Investigations Department and Central Division Task Force South received information, which led them to stop a vehicle in the vicinity of Exchange Lots Traffic Lights, Couva.

Officers reportedly found four bags, each containing creamy rock like substances resembling cocaine with a combined weight of 118 grams.

They arrested the two suspects, both of Mon Plasir Road in Cunupia, in connection with the find.

They are to appear at the Couva Magistrate court on Monday 28 December 2020.

Investigations are ongoing.
