Two women and one man were granted bail in the sum of $75,000 with a surety after they appeared before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate today each charged with one count of cruelty to a child age 13.

According to a statement from the TTPS, as part of the bail condition, the accused were all ordered to stay away from and not communicate with the minor.

Police said Jewel Marcano, 36, Erin Thomas, 24, and Rae-Ann Thomas 23, all from Waterwheel Road, Diego Martin, were arrested and charged.

The trio was arrested on Tuesday, December, 7 following a report to the Child Protection Unit in the Western Division.

According to the report, on July 23, the mother of the minor was at her home, when she allegedly saw the three accused brutally beating her 13-year-old son.

WPC Dorman conducted an investigation and as a result, the trio was charged.

They are expected to reappear in court on January 28, next year.
