RHONDOR DOWLAT-ROSTANT

An unidentified man was found dead under the flyover along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, Beetham, on Saturday morning.

Police suspect foul play as the body bore marks of violence.

According to a police report, at about 7:30 am, an Estate Constable assigned to the National Petroleum Company (NP) was crossing the highway at the flyover, in the vicinity of Bhagwansingh Hardware, when he saw the body of a man lying motionless under the flyover.

The body was described as belonging to a man of African descent, medium build, and dark complexion.  The deceased was clad in a blue, white, and red plaid shirt, and a pair of long blue jeans.

Police said both the unidentified man’s hands and face bore marks of violence, which suggest he either may have been beaten to death or knocked down by a passing vehicle along the highway.

The body was removed to the Forensic Science Centre pending identification.
