Police are seeking assistance from members of the public in helping them identify a man, who died at the hospital on Tuesday morning after he was treated for a stab wound.
According to a police report, at about midday on Monday a woman had just stepped out of a taxi in front of her home located at the corner of Observatory and Siparia Hill in Port-of-Spain when she saw a man lying in a drain semi-conscious.
The man of African descent believed to be in his 30s and about 6 feet tall was stabbed.
The woman flagged down a taxi and took him to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was treated and underwent surgery.
The man, however, later succumbed to his injury.
Up to press time, police said the man remains unidentified.
