The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) says customers served by the South Oropouche Booster Station are currently experiencing an interruption in their pipe borne water supply because of a leak on the 36-inch transmission pipeline.
Emergency repair works are presently underway and are expected to be completed by 10:00 p.m. tonight.
Areas affected include South Oropouche, Otaheite, Dow Village, Mon Desir, Rousillac, Aripero, Chinese Village, Sobo, La Brea, Labidco and Union Industrial Estates, Vessigny, Fyzabad, Avocat, Pepper Village, Siparia Old Road, San Francique and SS Erin Road.
WASA says it may take up to 24 hours for the scheduled pipe borne water supply to normalize to some affected areas following the completion of these works. A limited truck-borne water service will be available upon request.
