The body of a woman who was reported missing on Wednesday has been fished out of the Guaracara River.
Eudora Solomon, 68, of Washington Street, Marabella was found on Christmas Eve, after her family spent more than 24 hours searching for her.
A relative told Guardian Media that Solomon suffered from dementia and they believed she ran away from home in the wee hours of the morning.
It is believed that Solomon used a knife and prised open the door around 3 am on Wednesday. She climbed over a fence and fell into the river where she drowned.
A report was made to the Marabella police and officers from the Fire Services came searching the river for her.
Using dinghies, they perused the watercourse and eventually spotted the woman’s body floating down the river near the old Trainline Bridge.
An autopsy will be done on Monday.
San Fernando police are continuing investigations.
